Click Java (TM) Platform plugin (Windows) or Java Applet Plug-in (Mac OS X) to select it. Check that the option selected is Ask to Activate or Always Activate or an older Firefox version, click on the Enable button (if the button says Disable, Java is already enabled).
Firefox 11 is disabling Java plugin versions that are below version 1.6 Update 31 or between 1.7.0 and 1.7.2 for Windows computers only. Mac OS X computers are not currently affected by this Firefox update.
We recommend upgrading to the newest versions of both Firefox and Java. However, administrators of Windows computers that require these older versions can re-enable the Java 1.6 Update 23 plugin for Firefox 11 web browsers by following the steps below.
- Open Firefox.
- Click the orange Firefox menu button in the upper left-hand corner of the browser window.
- Click on Add-ons.
- Click on Plugins.
- Locate the Java (TM) Platform SE 6 U23 6.0.230.5 plugin in the list and click the Enable button.
- Restart Firefox.
If you do not have this version of the Java plugin available, download and install it now.
